Property Admin Portal - Version 0.5
Property Admin Portal is an easy to use content management solution
that allows real estate agents to manage their properties on a MySQL
database. The Property Admin Portal solution comes in two parts:
- A "front-end" public web site that allows perspective
buyers to search for properties matching their search criteria,
and that allows vendors to login and check the existing sales
status of their property. Click here
to see a template of the "front-end" public web site
(opens in a new web browser).
- A "back-end" private password protected web site (the
Property Admin Portal), which allows the real estate agent to
effortlessly manage their properties database. Click here
to see (and use) the "back-end" Property Admin Portal
(username: demo , password: demo) (opens in a new
web browser).
The Property Admin Portal in more detail
The Property Admin Portal allows real estate agents to perform
the following functions effortlessly:
- add a new property to the properties database
- edit existing properties on the properties database
- delete existing properties from the properties database
- search for properties by various search methods, including a
search by house number and post code, vendor's name, vendor's
e-mail address and unique reference number
The properties database stores each property with the usual property
information such as:
- the full address of a vendor's property (i.e. the house name
or number, road, town, county and postcode)
- details of the vendor's property, including a short description,
large description, type of property, price of property, and number
of bedrooms
- a unique property reference number
The properties database also stores each property with the extremely
useful vendor information such as:
- the vendor's contact details including their full name, telephone
numbers and e-mail address
- the vendor's login information (i.e. username and password)
- the vendor's existing sales status
The result of including extremely useful vendor information
within the properties database means that:
- real estate agent staff are less burdened by vendor's telephone
calls and visits to the office because vendors can simply login
and check the existing sales status of their property
- when real estate agent staff are communicating with the vendor,
they can easily and rapidly search for the vendor's property (by
a number of search methods), and communicate with the vendor accordingly
quoting all the information related to the vendor's property as
necessary
- when real estate agent staff are communicating with the buyer
or prospective buyer, they can easily and rapidly search for a
vendor's property (by a number of search methods), communicate
with the buyer accordingly, and if necessary rapidly update the
existing sales status of the vendor's property
As far as I am aware, no other property content management solution
for real estate agents offers the extremely useful vendor information.
Advantages in using the Property Admin Portal
The Property Admin Portal offers the following advantages:
- Because the Property Admin Portal and properties database is
stored in a centralized location with an Web Host, real estate
agent staff can login to the Property Admin Portal from
any location with an Internet connection. This means that
can real estate agent staff can manage properties from different
office locations and even from their home !
- Because extremely useful vendor information is stored
on the properties database, vendors can easily check the sales
status of their property. This results in less telephone calls
and office visits from the vendor. This means that real estate
agent staff can concentrate on other tasks for longer periods
of time without interruption.
- Simple to use with a multitude of search options which are orientated
around real life situations such as staff - buyer and staff -
vendor communications.
- Because the property database excepts HTML tags within the property
description, you can customise the way your property description
appears.
Property Admin Portal Requirements
Property Admin Portal requires the following:
- Any computer (Apple Mac or PC) running any operating system
(Windows, MacOS, Linux, Unix) with a web-browser.
- An Internet connection (dial-up or permanent). It is recommended
you use a permanent Internet connection such as ADSL or Cable.
- A Web Host which supports PHP4 and a MySQL database. I recommend
ICD
Soft who support a multitude of web hosting features in addition
to PHP4 and MySQL. ICD
Soft charge a nominal fee of $60 per year to host a web site.
