What people say .....

The following is a list of e-mails from various managers and team leaders who work at Nortel Networks.

John Montgomery, Nortel Networks

Hi Rob,
Just a short e-mail to say thanks for all the work that you have done on LH. Below are a couple of e-mails from Alice and Susanna which indicate how highly you are regarded in the LH documentation team. I'm sure that you will be just as helpful on the Preside team.

Thanks again
John

Susanna Carlisi, Nortel Networks

Hi John,
I also want to take a minute to let you know that it has been a pleasure to have Rob on our team. His attention to detail is outstanding. Although he is currently working on the trouble clearing and protection switching NTPs, Rob has taken the initiative to understand and review the entire library! This is evident in his ability to describe the impact of any change on the library.

As Alice said, it is a pleasure to work with Rob, and it's sad to see him go.

Regards,
Susanna Carlisi

Hi, John.

Thank you for your message. We're just waiting to hear whether the extra testing can indeed take place (that is, whether Verification can give up some shifts to Frank). Frank, Rob, and Tony should coordinate with Verification if (hopefully when) Verification gives us the green light for this additional testing activity.

Please allow me to take this opportunity to tell you what an excellent team member Rob Wisbey is and has been on the OPTera Long Haul 1600 Documentation team (even releases).

  • is very knowledgeable
  • goes the extra mile (always looking to further improve documents by volunteering to perform extra peer reviews on team members' document and setting up extra sessions to test procedures, for example, NTP 543, a key customer document)
  • is prompt
  • is a volume producer (consistent)
  • is committed to producing high-quality documentation (implements writing conventions, standards, as required; raises related questions)
  • plays an active role in ensuring the technical accuracy and the quality of the written word in his own assigned documents and others team members' documents throughout the development cycle;
  • solves SRs efficiently; clearly understands the impact on customers and follows up accordingly
  • is very thorough
  • is flexible
  • has a very pleasant manner and is easy to work with (a real team player)

It's been a pleasure working with Rob and I'm sure he'll help Tony feel right at home during the transition into our team. It's sad to see Rob go. Maybe we'll have the opportunity to work with him again. At least we'll still have the benefit of his expertise through our upcoming CA deliverable (week 28).

Regards,
Alice Flaborea

Rob,

Though we haven't been talking together much, I have been monitoring your progress and the transition of Trail responsibilities to Bruce Lawrence. I have been very impressed by your performance in closing the 4.1 features and in the rapid analysis and development of the release 4.2 work, which Bruce tells me is almost finished.

Thank you very much for staying on the program through these releases. We would have been hard pressed to complete the work on time without you. I look forward to working with you again.

Good fortune in your future endeavours, especially those on the continent (affairs of the heart being the most important).

Dave
